My toshiba Satellite l355-s7812 didn't fully shut down last night, this morning I pressed the power button. After 5minutes I Started it up again and the logo showed up, then the black screen with the underscore in the top left corner. Thats as far as it goes. I need help. I've tried removing the batter and power cord and plugging it back in, starting it up again, I've tried pressing down the power button and it just goes to the black screen. What else can I do and what could be the problem?

Try removing the ram sticks one at a time ( if you have two ). Meaning using a ram stick at one time, the ram sticks could be causing the problem.
