cpq v6000 l intermittent repetitive type bootup problem

My 05 cpq presario v6000 laptop intermittently has an identical boot up problem when it powers up for exactly 22 seconds then shuts off, comes right back on, then cycles on and off again exactly 22 seconds again and again till I shut it off. Sometimes it will boot up properly a few hours later, a day later, and the longest 2 weeks later and run fine till it happens again. ????????? Thanks ahead of time for your input. Sincerely yours, Puzzled.

I would check to see if the CPU Fan is working. You should feel air coming out the vent on the side or back. They are designed to shut off rather than burn out the CPU. Also try cleaning out any dust from the fan assembly. Normally I use a can of AIR you can buy at anywhere selling computer parts (Walmart, target, CompUSA, etc.)
