dead laptop

I have a laptop that when i turn on the power, the lights com on the hd comes on for a second, but nothing else. even the light for the wireless comes on. the screen does not com on. also i can never hear the chime that windows makes when it boots so i know windows isnt booting...

any sugestions on where to start.

IF you can remove the hard drive try this, remove it then try to boot up. If you get to the POST screen you may have a bad hard drive. Try removing anything else that can be removed (IE CD drive) and see if tou get any results with them out.

where can I find the hard drive on a compaq presario 2500 to remove it?
