Dead Dell Demension 4600

Hi I have a Dell Demension Desktop 4600 (2004 Model)
It first went dead after a brown out and I replaced the power supply and got it working again. Now it has gone dead again and a new power supply didn't solve it. When I turn it on it the light by the switch comes on and the fan runs for about 1-2 seconds then it turns off. I see a LED light on the motherboard is ON for a moment. Its located by where the conection for the switch hooks up. Can anyone give me any advice on what to try next ? Thanks !

Ugh, the board was dead from the beginning. This exact scenario affected my friend's machine.

A very simple solution: The motherboard must be replaced.

However, I may also ask about your power situation... how many power strips are used, who made the power strips, time since last rewiring, age of house, etc.

That, of course, is to prevent further issues.
