Bad windows updates!!!

After my laptop automatically downloaded updates recently, my lappy wont bootup windows anymore. Not even in safe mode.Has anyone else had this problem recently?? Does anyone have a solution? I have Norton anti virus 2005 and that never picked up anything dodgy.

I have had the same problem! I just bought a new computer which started up perfectly until I downloaded Windows Updates..Now the computer freezes up during booting and the start music skips. If you here anything email me back.

It depends on which updates you installed. At least then you could check out Microsoft's website to see if there are known issues.

Try using a Windows Repair installation with your Windows XP CD. At least that will replace Windows critical system files and hopefully get your system up again.
