My laptop continually restarts itself

Expand Post »
Hi

My laptop froze the other night, and wouldn't respond to anything i did, and so i had to manually take out its battery to turn it off. I think it froze again once i restarted it so i took out the battery a second time.

Now, i cant get to the desktop at all, my laptop keeps restarting.

What happens is that i get this screen below:

No matter which option i choose, i don't get past this screen:

This screen is on for about 3 seconds and then the laptop restarts itself, and begins this cycle again.

Much thanks in advance to anybody who can help

Thanks.

Hi,
This issue can be related to memory. If the computer have two memory stick please remove one and see what happen then to the same for the other stick. Also, you might try to run any live Linux Distro like Knoppix and see what happen.

Hope it help!

Re: My laptop continually restarts itself

Yup, I totally agree on that. Sometimes the memory might give these issue. I just experience once, with the memory problem, it cannot finished loading the computer as well. try with kako13, should be able to resolve your issue.

If that still cannot, maybe your computer is over heat and resulted the issue.

Re: My laptop continually restarts itself

Ok,,, I have just had this happen to me very recently.. what was happening to me was that my wireless card software got screwed up when i had to hard start after a freeze. try booting up with your wireless turned off. if you get further then uninstall your wireless software then connect to a lan-line download the latest and greatest.
the laptop i had the problem with was a sony viao.

Re: My laptop continually restarts itself

Hi there
what happens when you go into windows by using safe mode?does it perform a freeze?... if you can go into safe mode then go into event viewer and see if you can find anything unusual.
furthermore run a chkdsk on your machine by using recovery console

I had this problem - removing an SD Card plugged into the Reader during boot stopped the problem. pop it back in when "Windows 7 is Starting"
