STOP Error 0x0000007A, KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR

I have submitted the below to HP but as yet they haven't been too helpful. Hope someone can help!

Whilst using my HP Compaq nx9010 today the machine cluescreened whilst it was running several applications, one (WinAmp) which had crashed and I was attempting to close. The bluescreen said KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR and included the STOP error code 0x0000007A. The bluescreen also caused a physical memory dump to the hard disk. The machine then restarted as it does normally in the case of a bluescreen (which hardly happens at all, maybe three times in the life of the machine). The first time the machine restarted it did a checkdisk and passed. Once started up the computer hung just after login. At this time the blue processor usage light on the front of the machine was constantly on which never normally happens. The computer then bluescreened again in the same way. This bluescreen error occurred even when starting in safe mode, after running a system restore the system still had the error. I then attempted both a recovery of the OS and a reinstall using the supplied OS recovery discs. I also attempted MBR and boot record restorations through the recovery command line the CD recovery utility provided but these could not even start as the system reported an unrecoverable error. The same occurred on running CHKDSK.

I have visited the following Microsoft support articles and have not been able to get any further. I could not change the BIOS system caching as I could not work out how to, I could not view the event viewer as the computer doesn't load far enough to access it, also I believe it not to be a hardware connection issue as the error occured when the many system resources were being used by software instead (I may be wrong but this just seems more likely from the situation in which this issue occurred).

I also get an annoying bluescreen sometimes. I don't know that to do.

Whenever a 'BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH' appears the first thing I do is swap the ram for some I know is good - works 9 times out of 10 for me. Try taking them out and reseating them if you've no spares. If you're lucky you've got an older machine using PC100 or PC133 which is plentiful and cheap(ish), the stuff in the newer machines can be horribly expensive. Hope this helps.

You will need to get the parameter data to help diagnose the cause of the problem. What other applications were you running when the problem first appeared? Have you recently changed any hardware or installed any software? Any recent downloads or indications of a virus? Any other indications of a hard drive problem like random instances of "drive not detected" during post or has the drive been making any strange noises or failed smart testing lately? More information would be helpful.

This same blue screen with "kernel_stack_inpage"/"stop error 0x0000007A" came to me, it came up while i was installing windows vista. please help. i tried removing new installed hardware, i dont know where to find the memory caching in the BIOS so i can disable it, i have 512MB of memory, my motherboard is a new 2006 Gigabite K8. i spent like 2 days, please help. if you need anymore information, please ask me.

Was the system working properly before you attempted to install Vista? What new hardware had you installed?

I just made a completely new computer(not even 2 months old) and i have windows media center edition on one hard drive and im trying to install windows vista on a brand new hard drive, my system is working very well, this is a new hard drive im trying to install windows vista on. Any Ideas If you need any more info, just ask me:!: :!:

Kernal stack inpage error 0x0000007a

I noticed keyboard wasn't operating so I changed from USB keybrd & mouse to old style plug-in type & booted pc & voila good to go. My winxp was okay until i would try & install sp2 on a clean install after formatting hard drive. Hope this helps someone w/ the same problem.
