power jack for inspiron 1150

Please help,
where can I find a jack for a inspiron 1150 , mine has snapped off mother board, searched the net had no joy, doing my head in now,
any help would be appreciated

hi ,if it snapped off the motherboard ,a new one isn't going to do anything until you fix the motherboard

Hi there,

Check out http://www.notebookpowerjacks.com They have the jack you need and it says all jacks ship with instructions. They also have a pinout of the jack you need for easy continuity testing when your done soldering.

Measure its diamater using a pair of calipers and then just buy one from a UK components supplier e.g Maplin Electronics and solder in in yourself.
