Emachines 770 Problem

Expand Post »
Hi,

I recently came back home from a trip of 2 days, when I came back home to switch on my PC, I heard a "pop" noise from the processor, and when I hit the main button on the processor to switch it on, nothin happens. I was told there wa 2 power cuts when I was away, and I thought there might be a trip switch within the processor, but I found none. The power lead works for the monitor though as I switched them around, so that rules out a dodgy lead. I can't find a fuse in the processor either to see if that's blown.

Any help appreciated,

Craig

Re: Emachines 770 Problem

How do you know the pop came from the processor?
Was the Machine on when you left for you trip?
Did you have it hooked up to a surge protector?
What made you rule out a Blown power supply?

Re: Emachines 770 Problem

Hello. No it wasn't turned on when I left the trip, the pop defaintely came from the processor as I switched on the mains plug. Never heard of a surge protector lol. Although I haven't ruled out a blown power supply.

Thank,

craig.
