Dell Inspiron 1000 Shuts down randomly

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop running windows xp , it boots fine but if i move the screen an inch it shuts down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

its under power management in control panel - theres a setting for what to do when the lid is closed - certain laptops just seem to be very sensitive to this e.g my thinkpad does this if you wobble the screen a few millimeters
