Hard disk unlocking

Expand Post »
I have a 120GB western digital hard disk that locked up suddenly when i was using the operating system. When i restarted the computer it did nothing. it is detected by the BIOS and when i researched further i realised it had locked down.
i have tried different password reseting utility programs but nothing. I was wondering if there was another way of reseting the password.

Re: Hard disk unlocking

Age of drive? Color Silver or black? The silver 120's have a long, sad history of failures. You may still recover data as a slave to another drive. Suspect your drive has gone south, but you won't know till you drag the data off, then attempt reformat and reinstall.
