Synaptics touchpad stopped working in compaq nc6000

Hi,

Synaptics touchpad stopped working in my compaqnc6000 laptop after I replaced my keyboard. I installed driver, made sure that synaptics is enabled, I did everything it does not work. I even reverted back to my old keyboard, it still does not work. I have checked that it is plugged to the port securely. Could you please suggest any solution?
