i just recently had to get my laptop sent away to get a new hard drive because the old one had errors in it.
ive had this new hard drive for 24 hours and now windows does not register my keyboard, touchpad or my external usb mouse.
i can get into the login screen but once im there i can't type or move the cursor

can anyone help?

check the BIOS settings, make sure that the legacy USB is enabled, and that you're keyboard is also enabled.
