HP Web Camera help please

Something is taking control of my Web Camera. Firstly, the web camera works fine. It's when I am not accessing it for awhile after booting up. Letting the notebook stay idle for a shot time, I find that I need to reboot to access it. I have Vista. Any ideas out there? Regards, John
