Print spooler issue

Expand Post »
Hello!

A family friend recently installed a Dell AIO printer onto a Vista Home Basic machine. The machine is 3GB RAM with an AMD Phenom triple core processor.

The printer was working fine until the other day it just stopped printing. The Dell software says the printer is offline but Windows is saying the printer is ready?

Then in event viewer it lists an issue with the print spooler?
This isn't an issue I've come accross before so just wondering if I reinstall it all for them will it work okay or will it require a bit more TLC?

Regards,

Dazza

Re: Print spooler issue

Hello darrenw89,

From what I can see the microsofts print spooler is corrupted or missing.

have you tried running chkdsk?

perhaps a repair of the OS will help.

Reinstalling the drivers will not harm the computer and you may aswell try it.
