That would be the best idea.
If there is mechanical damage, then no s/w is going to be able to fix that for you. It might be able to work around the problem for a while, but longer term, it's trash.
Save your data while you can, and get another drive ASAP.
After saving your data, and before throwing it in the electronics recycle bin, run this over it.
