corrupt printer driver

A friend runs win ME and has an Epson colour inkjet printer. Recently the driver has become corrupt a few times. Last time I replaced it with a new one I downloaded of the Epson site yet two week later the printer is printing Chinese characters again

Any advice anyone please

First when was the last time your friend had reinstalled ME?
ME shouldve been named MISTAKE, but thats just my opinion. If he has had a recent install then make sure you delete all printers and look for a print driver cleaner from Epson to make sure nothing is hanging on.
