I have a vista 64 bit, and I have a usb mouse plugged into it. After like 5-10 seconds the mouse just starts moving down. I have to unplug and replug the mouse, and then it stops. I did not change anything, but my 15 month old cousin was button mashing, and he may have pressed something. How can I fix this?

Thanks for your help.

I guess (if you're sure it isn't any hardware-related) you should reïnstall your mouse drivers.
Go to Hardware Management (devmgmt.msc) and uninstall your mouse-driver. Windows will automatically reïnstall when you plug your mouse back in.

It is probably hardware related. Replace the mouse. They aren't expensive, although taking it apart and cleaning things (blowing the dust out and such) may help.

try using another USB port on your PC

its a ghost using the mouse, hahahaha, but really,i also experience that kind of stuff..
if im right its the mouse that has a problem.
