Trouble with laptop keyboard.

Expand Post »
I have a Gateway solo 5150 laptop, the keyboard just stopped working today and I can't find a way to fix it. I tried plugging in a full sized keyboard from my desk top, and it worked fine. I was wondering if I have to replace the keyboard that is in it now to make it work properly or if there is some other way to fix it? Thank you.

Re: Trouble with laptop keyboard.

Sometimes it is a faulty motherboard that causes this, but it may just be the keyboard. First though, unscrew the keyboard from the case and unplug and replug in the connector from the keyboard to the motherboard. See if this helps any.
