I have a simple question. I set up my printer to my laptop wirelessly do I disconnect the usb cable now? When I turn my printer on it will automatically be connected to my computer right?

If you set the printer up wireless then if will have an ipaddress on your network and your laptop should see it on the network. You do not need the USB cable. That is only if you don't use the network connection.

Your HP software, if installed, would help you easily locate HP printers on the network. As long as the laptop and printer are on the network, no USB cables are required.
