problem with new cd-rw/dvd combo drive!!! help!!!

hello i am plic
i installed a combo drive 2 days ago.
it was till morning but now although it is reading dvd's it is not reading cd's!
please can somebody tell me how to go about eliminating this problem.
is this a hardware issue or a software one?

it's a hardware issue, could be a bad data cable, or it could be a defective drive.

maybe your cd's have a little matter,or it's special format.
