microphone help please

I currently own the Premium Stero Headset by logitech. When i tried to use my microphone, it didn't have sound. I made sure everything was unmuted. But it still didn't work. so i tried to reinstall my sound driver. So i did which is SoundMAX. But my microphone still doesnt work. I don't really what to do now. Can someone help?

Oh yeah, I was doing some research. I see many of the ways to fix is through speech recognition, which is installed through microsoft office. I have microsoft office 2007, not 2003, so I do not know how to install speech recognition through office 2007. Can someone teach me how to do speech recognition with microsoft office 2007? Thanks
