Re: Has anyone heard of Global Domains International?

No I have not heard of them but have seen a lot of special TLD domain sellers out there selling .ws domain names.

They are not worth much unless they are very short generic names, then you may have something, but most of those are taken already in all the TLD's

I've been with GDI for 6 weeks now and I am loving it!
For $10 a month - Website, Domain Name, Hosting and all the extras, you just can't beat it.
Plus you can try it all Free for 7 days and cancel anytime.
So many other offers simply don't let you do that. You can work the business (leave your domain name pointed to the cool movie) or you can build your website to promote anything you choose.
You can even use it as a gateway page for another domain because it has URL forwarding!
At any rate, so far it's the best affiliate program that I've found on the web and I'm loving it. You can check it out yourself at my website in my profile.

I agree Gayle. I use my website for my personal and business use. To promote GDI to others I include an Advertising Banner (just like .COM websites) that refer others to get more info regarding GDI. In this MLM business there is only 1 product (no inventory of useless stuff). A very useful product if you are paying a lot for a current web site or don't have one. And free virtual domain sites don't count.
My dad is also a GDI member and uses his website in regards to his genealogy hobby and to promote his businesses including his eBay Store.
As with any business, you should evaluate the product to see if its right for you. If its right for you then you should feel that it would be of value to others. As an affiliate you get a small commission for the referrals.
Its no different really than referring others to non-internet businesses. If you find a good deal at your local retailer and you tell someone about it and they go to that retailer to shop - then how much is the check that retailer sends to you? answer: $0.00.
If you refer someone to a doctor that you liked -- how much does that doctor send to you for the referral?
Other companies do affiliate programs too, where they pay you a commission based on the sale to a buyer who got there from your website. Check out fatwallet, clickbank, amazon, etc websites for lists and/or examples.
GDI is no different. People just like labeling everything "Pymarid" and don't even know what they're talking about. (used loosely American business is just one big pymarid and you're the little guy at the bottom). If you like paying "the man" instead of being "the man" then go buy a domain from godaddy or any other domain reseller and then pay "the man" for a high-dollar web-hosting package. C' Ya!

Hope this puts it in perspective for you!

Unless I'm selling something on the web, why would I need my own domain name and web address? IOW, if I don't have a business to promote, why join GDI?

Joe, can I ask how long you've been with GDI and what type of income is it making for you from referrals?

Re: Has anyone heard of Global Domains International?

Global Domains International seems to be a popular "starter" program, especially for people residing outside of the U.S. Signing up is free and the monthly cost is only $10.

I've never been an affiliate, but I'd written a pretty detailed analysis of Global Domains International (GDI), covering both the pros and cons of the program.

I'd never heard anyone mention is in relation to being a scam, etc. However, I found that the BBB had revoked their membership, which I found pretty interesting.

Click here for the Global Domains International Review

By the way, if any successful GDI reps are reading this - and you've been with the company a minimum of one year, please contact me for an interview.

Warm regards,

Re: Has anyone heard of Global Domains International?

When people are "signed up" in a business and there is no product moved or sold then that is defined as a pyramid. An MLM is legal if they have specific products for the end consumer to purchase.

Let's say you have a family... you can register your last name as your .ws domain name and create an email address like this: firstname @lastname.ws now you can create up to 10 email addresses so you can create one for every member of your family. Why is this useful? Well… you can tell your relative and friends your email address and they don't have to write it down. if they know your name, they'll instinctively know where to reach you and never lose your email address.

Now you can recommend your relatives and friends to do the same and refer them to the opportunity so GDI becomes your business and soon enough, your email addresses/domain name becomes free or you can eventually get monthly checks for using it.

I really like the way this company is setup.

check this new video, it pretty much cover everything.

Re: Has anyone heard of Global Domains International?

I do not know exactly how many customers they have but I would assume that there are MANY

GDI was listed in Inc. Magazine's "Inc 500 List for 2002": America's Fastest Growing Private Companies. GDI ranked #37 (Thirty-Seven!) out of 500 for the USA nationally, and #5in the state of California!

It all started in 1999 so they've been around for more than 6 years!

In the two years since WebSite.ws launched, close to 200,000 .WS domains have been registered in over 180 countries worldwide making the initial sale of 150,000 .WS website domain names faster on a percentage basis than .com domains.

They recently launched a DVD to help people promote it offline and it's very good. Check this site for the complete video of the DVD and testimonials:

Re: Has anyone heard of Global Domains International?

I just joined. I think it is not a scam, you are not buying air, but a domain and webhosting and support. If you bring in new customers you get paid. Only problem is to start getting members to start there as your sponsor. Could we perhaps put up a chain of people registering ? If you register using my account website.ws/arjan2 and post your id as a reply the next one to register can use you as a sponsor. If the link is not broken everybody will start with 5 downliners !!! (= 5 $)
I allready have 1 and started yesterday...

The first 7 days are free of charge so you can allways quit if it does not work...

I don't intend to get rich, but I intend to have a free domain with my name (arjan) and some money a month, say 20$...
