Help with oscommerce

go to your administration tool. select define languages click on index.php under the english language. you will notice that the text within the inverted commas is the text your looking to change. furthermore you have to edit header.php to rename the TITLE of the site from oscommerce to something more suited to whatever your shop is called.
Font and styles are held in the stylesheet.css file ..catalog/includes.
and the logo image is named as oscommerce.gif within the header.php relating to the image stored in the images folder. Post a link to your cart if possible because the other problem I can't figure unless I see what its doing.. Making sure of course that you password protect your admin folder before you post such a link(contact your webhost if you are unsure how to do this).

My apologies, but most of your information is wrong. I have osCommerce and my own custom template so let me fix some of your errors.

The stylesheet is in the main directory, its located under the 'catalog' file. Alright, that should be about it, anyway the admin folder can be password protected through cPanel. If you need me to do anything, like make a custom template for exclusive, I can make you one for a reasonable price. I can even add Contributions. I added a FedEx Zip Code Zone contribution and it would not work, believe it or not. I finally got it working, and now its an option on my site, with no connecting to the FedEx server, its all self contained on the site. I just update the prices ever week in case the FedEx shipping from my area changes.

Not trying to be an idiot, but i still dont understand what you guys are talking about.

I now know how to edit the front page. That is clear, and i thank you..

How do i edit the look of the front page? is it possible to take the front page and edit it in dreamweaver? if so how?

also i have a question on how to get the oscommerce functioning..

it works up until the point of when you try to get a new account or if you need to checkout with your shopping cart....
also what is your website young teck o6 and how much would it cost me for a template ?... etc..

PM me for a quote on a template, let me know what you want the colors to be and such. To edit the template, its through the main files. My website is but its under maintenance right now. Atleast until I get my inventory in. Lastly, if you want me to install a fresh copy of it for you, let me know and I can add that in with the template price, I'll also install contributions. I cannot guarentee a correct install of a contribution, but if it doesn't work, I backup work and I'll replace it with the original files. Just a note.

At this point i dont care of the looks of the oscommerce..

what i'm wondering is whether or not i can get this thing running

i need some kind of security program for a secure payment or something like that..

also i cant get the pages to even checkout or the payment webpages to work... i need help.

i gave my website a face lift last night.

MORTGAGEman: You need an SSL Certificate to secure payment checkouts I'd recommend, you can get one from http://www.synergyssl.com for $29 for 2 years with a $10,000 Warranty Protection and also you can pay $10 more and one of their technichans will install it for you. Believe me, I got one from there and it works nicely. If you need help trying to purchase or receive one, let me know, I can walk you step through step.

emma_leigh: I can help you out as you wish. PM me, and let me know what your price range for paying for a template is and we'll discuss business from there. You can decide to even make your own colors and such. It's a time processing thing, so it could take 2-4 weeks for a complete finish, but believe me, it'll look well done at the end.

Setting write permissions on files which do not absolutely require is usually not such a good idea in terms of security. But if you absolutely must, FTP to the folder right click on the file within your FTP application and set write permissions with chmod command.
