Can any one explain me,"How IP address is important for ranking?"This is a interview question. It was asked from me and I was really confused. Please explain me

Giving you a simple example. If you want to be a leader in your area then what would be your process? First of all you will say all person one by one to let you know and to give you vote. If you will talk with single family does not matter how many members there, you can not win from your area.

This way is working also in SEO if you will make links from single IP then you can get about nothing but if you will make links for your website from different IPs then you can be leader of online market.

IP Address is like your websites web Identity. if you use shared hosting then by default you ip address will be shared with other websites. having a dedicated ip gives a little edge but not that much.

IP is important because links from different IP's work great and links from same IP work as single l;ink.

I think IP is not a big factor to get ranking. Try to get some quality back links via SEO

If your backlinks are pointing to the same ip then it is considered as a one backlink...so try to collect backlinks from the different ip's
