Keyword ranking tool?

Hello All,

While trying to optimize my web site for certain keywords, I can see the need for some tool that would capture the ranking of my web site pages for these specific keywords, on a regular basis.

The way it would function would be, for example:
- every day at hour HH:MM run a process that finds the ranking of my web site(s) for X number of keyword combinations.
- tool might have some kind of reporting tool that shows the progress over time. CSV data alone will do fine, since I can plug this in a spreadsheet software...

Does anyone know of any tool like this? I would like to not use a service that other web sites offer. I'd rather have my own server software that does this work by itself.

If you know of a tool like this please let me know! I thought I'd ask before trying to reinvent the wheel.

This should be the function of the keyword ranking tool out there like KPMRS.com or seobook keyword ranking tool...but they do not work like this.

I guess we will need to develop such software...but not sure whether it is possible or not (i really suck in programming)

There are plenty of tools that does that. The tools can typically tell you the exact ranking of specific search engines such as Google/Yahoo/MSN in the Top 1000 position. Here's one that I use regularly for Google.

THere are several tools you can use to do this it really depends on what you want. For example I use SEO Cockpit simply to generate reports in PDF that I can flick to my clients it's really cheap only about $10 per month from memory for up to 20 websites.

Although it's not the bees knees of SEO reporting it is cheap for what it offers. thenm you have what I consider to be the best on the Market for both SEO efforts reporting and competition, you really have to try it to get the full picture because there are many different uses and I only use it to assess my ketywords for profitability and then monitor my efforts, the downfall is you can only export to CSV. You can download it free for 12 days and see it for yourself.

Manual checking always beneficial because keyword ranking tools don't show accurate results.
