Link Popularity

Does anyone know of any websites that would let me check my link popularity / the number of backlinks that I have? The more details and specifics, the better?

Personally, I use the commercial stats tool Urchin, but I have also used sites like http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/link-popularity-checker.shtml
Not a lot of details, but they check the top search engines and list the number of backlinks.

But again, you may want to use a site stats tool. Most hosting companies provide this within the control panel of youe website.

Member SEOBook has 2 cool toys I play with and I'm happy with them:

Link Harvester: http://www.linkhounds.com/link-harvester/ (web-based) Queries the Yahoo API, because we like Yahoo's link data better!

Back Link Analyzer: http://www.linkhounds.com/backlink-analyzer/ (downloadable, has a nice plug to Daniweb in it's SEO resource section, and uses the Yahoo, Google, and MSN APIs).

tgreer, that's not exactly the correct format ;) It's actually link: www.daniweb.com like this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD%2CGGLD%3A2004-51%2CGGLD%3Aen&q=link%3Awww.daniweb.com

It's link:, not links:, and there cannot be a space between the colon and the domain name.

However, doing it this way does not show all backlinks - just a very small sample of them. :)

You can try link: http://kingwood.inside-real-estate.com (URL) in yahoo. Yahoo shows more BLs than Google does.

Hi cscgal.

I use marketleap.com. It's quick and easy and you can check up to five sites at a time and it returns results for all the major search engines. It will also give you the page saturation for your sites for all the major engines.
