What is the use of other search engines when google is here????
Google is a great search engine, but it isn’t superior to every other search engine in every possible way.
Ixquick, StartPage, blekko, DuckDuckGo and a few others, have greater respect for search privacy than Google does. Ixquick and StartPage even allow webpages listed in the search results to be opened in a special proxy frame. DuckDuckGo, has its own set of advanced search commands. Blekko has a slashtag feature that Google doesn’t have.
Bing tends to put more emphasis on social media (which can be a good or bad thing, depending on what you are trying to achieve). Some search engines provide topic cluster links alongside the search results e.g. Yippy, Lexxe, Carrot2, ISeek, and Exaleed.
Google isn’t the dominant search engine in every country. Google isn’t the most popular search engine in Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, or the Czech Republic. In South Korea, Google is only about the 4th most popular search engine.
Some of the metasearch engines provide a nice blend of results. Google isn’t a perfect substitute to many of the specialised search engines.

Google personalises search results to some extent. Different people living in the same country, could see different Google results despite searching for the same thing.
This is probably why few complain about search engine rankings. They tend to see what they want to see, and assume that it is what everyone else sees.
Duck Duck Go and IxQuick don’t personalise the search results (because they don’t record the IPs of searchers).
