Hi,

This is my first post here. I have an ecommerce site that's actually on a Wordpress platform. It's my first foray into ecommerce so I'm starting small. I'd like to try PPC for it but my history with PPC is spotty. I've done a few campaigns but feel like I just don't know enough about it to have the best ROI. Since money is tight, I'm asking for a resource that can help me make the most ROI.

Please don't waste my time. I am not interested in an ebook written by some "guru" or a PPC course or membership site. I am looking specifically for a good book that has up to date information on how to do PPC . Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Does AdSense optimize ad units? If a particular spot performs better with image ads than text ads, does it show these more often? Or if a particular spot performs better with multiple ads than a single ad taking up the entire spot (even if it pays a higher CPC), does it do this more often?

You can make money with forums. The hidden element that search engines feed upon is forums. You can be part of an internet strong hold, when you submit. Your comments and articles can actively serve as food to millions of searches. Inquisitive prospects constantly make searches for all sorts of things. It’s not difficult to submit to hundreds, when you use an organized plan. The idea here is to create a data base. Your data will be your list of active forum’s . First become a member. Become a member of forums you have interest in. This way it will be easy to make comments on things you care about. Becoming a member of forums is somewhat like owning shares in cyber real estate. I consider them a small pieces of cyber space. Most of them use the same format. This makes it a easy to fill in the fields as rapidly as possible.

Having your own website is useful. You can direct forum participants to your website or affiliate link. That whole process is some what a soft sale. You may ask “how do I get viewers to go to my website or affiliate link?” Here’s how. Forums and email usually allow what is known as a “signature line.” This is where members, when posting or making comments, put their link. You’ll typically see an article and at the bottom there’ll be one or two short lines of text that are actually links leading to what ever the writer is promoting. A percentage of viewers will read your article or comment. Another percentage of readers will click your link ,out of curiosity. This may sound far fetched, if you are not accustom to the concept however, signature links have proven their value consistently. Forum signatures get clicks. Signature clicks are so powerful that forum owners regard them as a privilege, to forum members. Some forum owners protect and guard that privilege carefully.

It’s a privilege indeed to have a signature link. Owner or managers are usually called “moderators .” A moderator will usually monitor a forum participation. Some moderators will allow you to have a signature link only if you post, at least 10 or more relevant comments. Other moderators don’t care and will allow participants to have a signature link immediately, after registration. The said purpose of restricting signatures is to control spam. Your forum marketing mission is to constantly make “relevant” comments and submit to at least 500 forums. This will get you an enormous amount of traffic as well as build back links, to you that stay up on the web for years. The back links will ultimately give you a higher rating on search engines. A high score on search engines combined with your link being viewable to thousands, perhaps millions of forum members is a great reason to get involved. You can start with two or three forums. Then eventually expand to hundreds and beyond. Remember relevancy is important, when you post. Make sure your comments and posts are relevant to what the forum topic is. Do not post irrelevant material because you will be banned. Forum members especially moderators are sensitive .

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has signed a deal with YouTube to bring full TV programmes online, streamed for free. It's the first time that any broadcaster in the world has made such a comprehensive schedule of 'catch-up' programming available for free via YouTube.

Of course, when I say free I mean ad-supported but that's only to be expected. With YouTube now serving some one billion video streams a day, it makes commercial sense to increase your advertising reach in this way. Financial terms are not being disclosed, but the partnership runs for an initial term of at least three years on a shared revenue basis. We do know, however, that the deal is non-exclusive, allowing Channel 4 to continue distributing its 4oD service via its own website and other third party sites.

According to the press release from Oliver Rickman, manager for Google UK Communications and Public Affairs, the terms of the deal mean that "Channel 4 will make its 4oD video-on-demand ‘catch-up’ service of new programmes available via YouTube shortly after television transmission, including series that have already proved particularly popular with online audiences such as Skins, Hollyoaks, The Inbetweeners and Peep Show".

As well as that, YouTube users will also be able to access around 3,000 hours of full length programming from the Channel 4 archive at any given time, including shows like Brass Eye, Derren Brown, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Teachers to name but a few.

Although the service will not be available in full until early next year, content is expected to start dribbling through in the coming weeks and months.

Andy Duncan, Channel 4’s Chief Executive, said: “Channel 4 was the first broadcaster anywhere in the world to make all its commissioned content available online and we’ve consistently pioneered in this field. This strategic partnership is another important milestone for us and we’re delighted to be combining the power of the ‘4’ brand and the appeal of our content with YouTube’s unrivalled reach and reputation online. Making our programmes directly accessible to YouTube’s 20 million UK users will financially benefit both Channel 4 and our independent production partners and help bolster our investment in quality British content. It demonstrates our ability to strike dynamic commercial partnerships to help underpin our future as a commercially funded, not-for-profit multi-platform public service network.”

The advent of new digital marketing using e-mail has enabled markers to maintain continuous quality dialogue with customers and prospects. Every forward-thinking company is using various innovative techniques to get the maximum mileage from the limited marketing budget. saleslistsonline thinks Among the various strategies used to narrow down targeting customers/prospects, is through segmentation of the customer database.

Email segmentation as core strategy lies in the identification of layers of buyers within a market sharing similar needs, customer behavior and buying strategy. The essential knowledge and identification of each customer from the universal database of the organization helps to reach them with quality offers.

Contrary to the general belief, email segmentation doesn’t have to be complicated.

Major understanding of the customer should be as follows:

*What messages will be make them to react favorably to your product or service?

*Which all groups within your database are happy to get a discount offer, and how many will purchase when free shipping is offered?

*What portion of your target audience are ‘early adopters’, who need to be among the very first to hear about your new products?

*How often do they want to hear from you?
An excerpt:
# There's a lot of rich media being served – but most of it's not very rich. DoubleClick says that in 2008, less than 40% of the impressions it served were GIFs or JPEGs. So does that mean the other 60% were rich media? Not according to DoubleClick: it says 55% of its 2008 impressions were "simple Flash" ads. Just 6% of the impressions served in 2008 were rich enough to be labeled "rich media."

* Give viewers a reason to watch;
* Be entertaining;
* Use easily recognizable brand cues;
* Have a clear and simple message;
