I am involved in designing, managing and maintaining the entire newtaresh.com website.
This website is basically a catalog of most of the products and services that the business sells.

Getting the business some Indian traffic would pose some challenges so at the moment I am figuring out some ways around this.
Since the website is now live and open to the world, it would be interesting to see how this website helps the business.

Create Amazon Stores:

I started this project with a plan to save myself $20/month in data charges. I have Verizon, and an LG ENV2 phone, and I thought browsing the web on it was pretty cool. I upgraded my verizon plan to include data. After a few weeks I realized I was just reading the news, on popular sites, and for the extra $20/month I was paying, I could have bought a newspaper and kept it with me. It made me realize that I could probably write something that would text me the news. So off I went. Within a month I had a functional program that would send text me news from my favorite RSS feeds. I told a few friends, and they liked the idea. So I started building txtFeeder, a free website where you can sign up, and begin reading the web on your mobile. Its been open to the public for about 2 weeks, and I've gotten some pretty good responses. I'd love for others to try it, and let me know what they think.

So this is my first project that I've felt good enough about to post on here. I don't have a demo site, but if you run Xampp or have a server you can just throw them in a directory with a few files real quick and change a couple constants and see what you think. I appreciate an honest opinion, but please don't just tell me it sucks and not tell me what I can do better. Also, I'm not a web designer, so I'm strictly interested in functionality.

I made a server for my family a while back. We backed up all our music on this server and everyone was requesting a way in which they could download these files easily. They don't consider FTP easy. Anyway, I started searching around on the internet for a PHP solution to this problem and couldn't really find anything I liked. So I thought I'd write my own solution. This is the end result. I know it's not very secure, but I am planning on adding a user login and all that. I just haven't gotten around to that yet, being in school and everything. This is just what I made over the weekend so far.

Basically all the script does is list files in a directory and allows you to download any number of files you'd like. It lists the file as a link to the file, and has a check box which you can select if you'd like to download the file. It allows you to name your archive and when you submit the form it builds the archive with all the files you requested. I thought it was a quaint solution. Obviously nothing suitable for big websites but for personal use, I think with added security, this will work just fine.

RealState Directory gets a makeover

My real estate directory started life using wsnlinks but I wanted a bit more control so I've built a new body using cakephp over it's old database.

The template is totally different and the look and feel has changed completely. I'm experimenting with using Google Search and it has some catching up to do.

Obviously you can't see what I've built into the backend but I'm pretty pleased with the ajax-y tools to make my life easier there - especially when it comes to identifying duplicate submissions.

I never charge for my directories so I've been able to avoid the whole payment processing thing - phew - and stick to simple page generation.
