How did I feel getting a sneak peek at the G1?
I only had a few minutes to test the G1, I got to slide it open and see the desktop; the desktops background was very asthetically pleasing. The only similarities between the iPhone and the Google phone is that they're both smart phones and they both have aesthetic appeal; in my opinion the Google phone would beat the iPhone hands down.
What did the G1 look like?
The exterior design was black, not as thin as the iPhone; because in my opinion it offers more then the iPhone. When you slide the phone open the desktop appears; when you slide it closed it has a small screen that tells you it's locked; if my memory serves me right there was a picture of a lock on the screen.
What was installed on the G1?
I don’t know what exactly will be on the phone when you purchase it but I can tell you what I got to see. The phone has a 3.0 Mega Pixel video camera, a touch screen, and a QWERTY keyboard. The main desktop has a very pleasing layout you get to see an aesthetically pleasing desktop background with about 4 icons on the screen, and a very light colored white arrow on the side of the phone; the desktop was very easy to use and had plenty of room for more applications. When I touched the web browser icon on the desktop; the icons background lit up yellow and made a clicking sound letting me know it had been clicked; then a new screen appeared with Google.com and on top of the screen there were links to Google applications, one being Gmail and a calendar.
Located on the right of the screen there is the white almost translucent arrow that you can touch which will open up the Camera's screen which has several camera apps already installed; the only one I can remember is the shuffle picture app. I know there are a lot of more applications on the phone because the person showing me the phone took it out of my hands for a minute trying to locate the video camera and made a comment that there was a lot of stuff on the phone.
What phone do you think will be better the Blackberry Storm or the Google Phone?
According to my source the Blackberry Storm is suppose to be released November 3rd which will cause a big battle between the Google phone and the Blackberry Storm. The Storm has brand new technology that the Google Phone lacks; underneath the Storm there is a suspension system so when you touch a icon on the screen it feels like you actually pushed a button; when the Google Phone just lights up the icon and makes a clicking sound.
I did not get a sneak peek at the Blackberry Storm I have only seen videos of it on Cnet.
So over all what did I think of the Google Phone?
I was very happy with the Google Phone because it was easy to touch each app without the phone being over sensitive like the first iPhone was when it was first released. I found The Google phone aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, and it seemed to me that the phone will be very customizable.
I have written this article purely from memory so if I did make a mistake (which I don’t think I did) I apologize. I was not able to video tape my sneak peek of the Google phone.
