Discovering DaniWeb in depth
getting down to business

Did you know that there is more to DaniWeb than just being a great place to get help when you need it with your programming questions or those IT-related problems that are driving you mad? We like to think that we have the friendliest and most knowledgeable IT support community online, that goes pretty much without saying. But there is so much more to DaniWeb than just that. Have you thought about us as a business marketplace, for example?

Head over to the Business Exchange and you will discover another side to our community. A place where you can Post your Resume so that companies on the lookout for new and talented staff can see what you have to offer. If you happen to be a company that is Looking to Hire then our dedicated software development, web development, Internet marketing and IT consultant job offers forums are the place to post details of your vacancies, free of charge! Maybe you are looking for someone to help kick start a new business venture, you have a great idea but are not sure where to go to take it to the next level? Good news, we have the right forum for you: Project Partners Wanted. Similarly, our Show Off your Projects forum enables DaniWeb members to reveal to the community just what it is they are working on, be that an open source project, a dot-com startup, or just an idea. Our moderators to patrol this area, and no spamming will be tolerated. The same applies to our Website Reviews forum where you can show off your site and get helpful criticism or deserved praise from other members.

If you have got an item of hardware you want rid of, then head over to the Hardware Swap forum where you can buy, sell or swap hardware with other DaniWeb community members. We do ask that you don't link to online stores as only the direct sale of unique (and that means no bulk sales) computer hardware within the seller's immediate possession may be made available here.

And finally, there is our Webmaster Marketplace where those of you with a business interest in online life can exchange relevant links as well as offer advertising space, domains and even whole websites for sale. So what are you waiting for, head over to the DaniWeb Business Exchange and discover what you have been missing.

DaniWeb Hall of Fame
introducing another deserving 'member of the month'

Please welcome our newest member of the DaniWeb hall of fame, the aptly named essential who has made quite an impact in less than a year of joining DaniWeb. This 'notepad inspired coder' has more than 700 posts and 13 code snippets to his credit, helping him notch up 56 reputation points so far. he has proved to be a great help in the JavaScript as well as HTML and CSS forums where, according to the moderator who proposed him for the hall of month "every second reply is supported by helpful coding." Let's get to know the latest DaniWeb member to get a Featured Coder badge a little better...

Where are you from originally, and where do you live now?

I am originally from Japan, although I am now currently living here in the Philippines

How old are you?

I am 24

What is your current occupation?

I am currently working as a freelance Website developer, but haven't really done anything unusual in the past

What is your favorite operating system?

My favorite operating system is Windows XP because it offers easy features and a friendly interface

What first brought you to DaniWeb?

I was first brought here by a Google search when looking for some scripts and wanted to find a busy and populated forum community

What makes you stay here?

Challenging threads that keep my brain working all the time

What is your favorite forum?

My favorite forum would have to be Javascript/DHTML/AJAX because this is where I can offer maximum flexibility of my skills, including posting solutions to questions

What are your interests outside of IT and outside of DaniWeb?

My first answer would be fixing and tuning car engines. When I am outside of DaniWeb, I prefer spending time with webkits.org, mozilla.org, devopera.com and msdn.com learning and mastering all fundamentals of this four popular browsers

Name the best thing about DaniWeb, and one thing you would change if it were in your power?

The best thing about DaniWeb is that it offers fast, efficient and precise solutions for posters, and treats them fairly. If I had the power to change something I would change nothing! I have all the things I need here. I would add a new section though, for Mobile Web Developers concentrating on WML/WMLscript
