Hi, I'm a second year computer science major. Just started learning about assembly programming. Anyways, I was wondering if there was a good IDE that people usually use to program in SPARC, I've looked at the plugins for netbeans and it doesn't seem to support it. I also have looked for Eclipse support, but haven't found anything.

How do people normally program in assembly? Is it on an IDE or a plain old text editor?

What else do I need to be able to write and compile SPARC assembly? The prof hasn't gone over it yet, but I assume there's a SPARC SDK or something like that?

Do I have to be on a SPARC machine, or is there emulation or something that would work well?

Thanks for the help!
