I am having trouble deciding on a web framework. So far I am stuck between Spring and Play. I am leaning towards Spring, but I want to know more.
Spring MVC
- Nice connectors for security, social networking, cloud, etc.
- Certifiable via VMWare education
- Sprng XD
- Uses hibernate
- Groovy Support
- Somewhat difficult setup
- Amazing REST support
- Amazing mobile support
- Good IDE integration.
Play 2
- Asset compilation
- Easy to configure( I have trouble working with DB's and Spring)
- Easy to program
- EHCache is easyir to use than the spring cache
- Not as many hosting options
The main thing with Play is that I have seen no big data stuff for it. SpringXD is pretty cool. Is there anything about play that may turn me on to it?
