I am getting a second monitor to create a dual screen setup. I have the HP w1907v but it is discontinued. I have found this monitor. Will they be near enough the same in quality and resolution ect?

Network card blocking half of GPU fan

Hello,

My network card is blocking half of my GPU fan is this okay?

The GPU is the Radeon 7770 - club edition, There is no other configuration i can have the cards on the motherboard.

Hey!

I am making a new gaming computer (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QLYy) and I have heard that nVidia is much better. I'm not going to use more than one monitor, and if I do, it'll only be two so the lower memory is too important. Which nVidia card should I get that's around the price range of my current video card (Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card, ~$390) that's the same or better?

Cannot detect GPU in laptop

I recently got blue screened about four times. Some time later, i noticed that the nVidia GPU(630M), which is used with Optimus along with the onboard graphics, isn't being detected by the computer. I just want to know if there is some way to maybe make sure that the GPU is dead before doing anything else about it, maybe through the BIOS or some other method. I no longer have the crash dumps however.

A couple specs:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i5-3210 @ 2.50GHz
6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
And the GPU is an nVidia 630M with 1G VRAM

hp envy 4 screen turned dim but still working

Hi,

I have an HP Envy 4 Notebook PC with model 4-1080ee

It was working fine last night but when I woke and turned it on this morning, suddenly it's showing a very dim screen. It's still working okay in the background and if I look closely, I can still see everything and I was still able to print the DxDiag. I already tried adjusting screen brightness and contrast but it doesn't work. I tried turning it off then on again, but it still gives me a dim screen.
Can anyone help me on this please? Thank you so much

*I am Confussed about taking an Nvidia GTX 650ti or ps3!! Both prices are almost same. But in nvidia, the graphics would be i think a little bit higher than PS3. But i also want to play "exclusively" PS3 games like God of War, Unchartered series, Last of us, etc. that i won't be able to play in GTX650ti. And ofcousre PS4's prices would be high in its initial launch, so no way i would be buying PS4 initially. So what is your opinion regarding this topic; PS3 or Nvidia GTX650ti ?????? *

Computer doesn't startup when graphic card plugged

Hi guys, I have a similar problem:

Just bought a new PC, installed everything and using onboard graphics, everything is OK. If I plug in the graphic card, the computer doesn't start. The display don't turn on, the keyboard / mouse lights neither. The Fans are working (even the graphic card fans). I unplugged and replugged everything, reseted BIOS, disabled onboard graphics, but with the graphic card nothing works.
I have no chance to test the graphic card on other PC, or other graphics on my pc.
Any help ?

hello,

I installed a new SDD to my pc yesturday. It booted up and everything is fine, i reinstalled windows and tried to install catalyst for my graphics card however it didnt work, said the drivers werent there but catlyst is the drivers? Windows device manager wont install the drivers and my windows experience has gone from 7.3 to 3.8 because of it, the screen resolution is also horrible but the PC has booted from the graphics card and i can see the screen, What should i try? Is it broke?

monitor noises in skype

When using skype I get loud shreaking noises from the monitor speakers, making it impossible to hear. I am forced to disconnect speakers and use headphones to communicate. tried every possible combination of speakers and settings. no luck. Any ideas?

Hello

I have had this pc for a while now it was prebuilt one for pc world
i believe it was a Packard Bell iXtreme

My current specs are
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad Cpu Q8300 @2.50GHz
Ram 7 gb
64 bit operating system
GeForce GT 320

My Motherboard is this

My problem was my graphics card stopped working so i went to get some advice from the tech support at pc world
and they told me to get Sapphire Radeon hd 6670 and a new psu

Now my problem is i've unistalled my old graphics card and inserted the new one however my computer doesnt seem to be picking it up :(

I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem is?

I have a rough understanding how things work but not a pro knowledge

Trying to install new graphics cards now pc wont boot

motherboard = asus m3a78-cm. Windows 7 64-bit. 2 sticks of 2gb ddr2, 2 sticks of 1 gb

I opened machine and removed old graphics card (radeon hd 6670) and inserted graphics card (msi r7770).

When I started it up it gave several short beeps. I powered it down and removed vid card, double checked and discovered power supply needed to be 500w so I went and got a 600w psu. That did not work either, now no sounds made on startup at all. Tried replacing old graphics card, no luck, tried using onboard video connecter, no luck. Replaced cmos battery and used the cmos jumper to try and reset, no luck. Tried starting computer with one or no sticks of ram, no signal, no beeps.

At this point I will have to wait until tommorow to bring the moniter somewhere make sure its working, and so I am wondering if its likely then that I shorted my motherboard or cpu and thats my problem. Any additional insights before I spend money I dont have very appreciated

DVI: No Signal

A colleague of mine is using dual monitors and one kept on going to sleep after saying 'DVI: no signal' each time we attempted to turn it on. I switched the VGA and DVI connections between the two monitors and they are both working fine now so the problem appears to have been the DVI connection on the monitor. I don't know much about these things though.

How could the DVI connection suddenly fail on what is a relatively new monitor (3 months)? What in particular would have failed and is it something that is easily replacable/fixable?

Hi,
My pc seems to start since im able to hear the fan running but there is no display in the monitor.
I've checked my monitor and it is fine.
An other interesting thing is that after repeatedly trying to start my system it seems to boot after a random trial but hangs after the desktop screen appears.
Any suggestions? thanks.

My laptop screen went black

I was normally using my laptop, closed the lid normally and when I returned to use it I opened the lid half of the screen went white and the other half was multi- colored stripes, then it just went completely white, turned off the laptop and turned it back on and this time the screen was just completely black.
What happened to my hp pavilion dv5 laptop?
And how can this be fixed?

Hi, I just got a new laptop a few weeks ago, and everything was working fine until now.

I was going to login to my laptop (windows 8 inspiron) but it said 'new users can't log in because of low resources'. So there was this little back button and when I clicked it my laptop's screen turned black, none of the buttons work except for the Fn button, and the mouse shows up too. Other than that, none of the other buttons work not even the right click, Can anyone help please??

Hi,
I recently bought a palit nvidia geforce 620 graphics card and im having trouble getting it to work. I plugged it intothe motherboard and the computer works but the graphics card fan spins realfast and is very loud. When i plug my power cable in however (pcle) the fan slows to a sensible speed and becomes quiet but the computer wont boot.
What am i doing wrong? I am a rookie so please dont expect me to know everything.

Hi, I have a Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700-G7C laptop and it now has a black screen! I am so worried! Last night I was just playing Minecraft with my brother and I downloaded a few custom maps, after that it was already late and I just closed the lid. The next day, I went to school did my homework and when I went on to check my email, poof, the screen doesn't work. But mostly everything still does. The keyboard backlight still works and the fan is still running quite loudly at times because I haven't shut down Minecraft yet. The LEDs on the bottom also says that the laptop is on. I have googled it and one thing that is different from the other problems I found was that I couldn't hear any sound, but this may be because I turned on the mute button last night. I have a decent amount of computer knowledge and I have already checked the RAM, the hard drives and doing the 'take out the battery and holding the start button' but it still doesn't work! Any help will be appreciated. I spent $2,000 on this laptop and I would hate it to be broken.
