writing students data to a text file

i have managed to hard code data and read and write from a text file. However i now want to modify it so that i can type in the data and store it to a text file.I am using asm and writing code using the emulator in assembly language

You need to be a lot more specific. What flavor of assembly (there are hundreds of them). What "emulator" do you mean -- didn't know there was such a thing except for wireless devices and os such as PocketPC ? What operating system ? what assembler ?
