Hi dust_wind, welcome to DaniWeb :)

We definitely encourage anyone to participate in currently-active threads if they feel they can be of help, but we do ask members check the age and status of threads before responding to them. Threads marked as "Solved", or threads which have been inactive for more than a few months, should be left dormant.
Responding to such "dead" threads percolates them up into the page of active topics, which takes the focus of attention away from the active threads. If you see a thread which has had no responses for a few months or more, its best to leave it as is, as it's fairly unlikely that the original poster is still looking for input.

Thanks for understanding.
