can anyone clear my doubt?

well i've always been having this doubt.in my p.c. i have two operating systems windows 98 and xp. the files i save in the desktop of win 98 are not available in the desktop of xp.i belive that internally "desktop"is a memory location on the hard disk.but these contents change according to the operating system in use.how is it possible?

this topic is in the wrong place i think... it seems "tech talk" is more suitable... but here is the answer....

actually, desktop is a folder somewhere in your hard-disk, may be there is something can be done by changing your desktop folder to another folder, but i don't know how...

generally your desktop folder is located in \Documents and Settings\[your account name]\Desktop... this is in xp...
somethere in your windows\desktop... in win98..
