I was curious about the workings of extracting URLs fro webpages. I did several searches for this subject online, and discovered that some people preferred using regular expression while others preferred using parsers. I would like to ask the Daniweb community what they prefer.
If you prefer a regular expression for extracting URLs from a web page, tell everyone why and give an example of one.
If you prefer parsing the page for the URL, tell everyone what parser you use, the language that that parser is for, and give an example of the syntax of this method.
For both responses, please tell the reason why.
