View Remote Printer Queue on Windows XP

Hi, I'm in a jam here and just would like some input from other programmers. I need to monitor the print queue on a remote (local network) windows XP system. This computer is a member of the domain, and I have full access to it. But I'd like to monitor the queue for new jobs, then log the data. I can do this with software installed directly on the computer--or forcing the clients to print through a network print queue--but I'd like to avoid both of those.

I have the code worked out in VB.NET to manage the queue, but I can't view the documents in a remote queue, even if I'm mapped to it.

If anyone has ANY input in ANY language, please let me know. Thank you. :)
