computer architecture simulation

i was currently having a big project for my third year course, i was new to computer architecture because i am major in telecommunication. And i need a software that can run simulation on my PC, indicate how the internal routing and we are only able to simulate on hardware part, if condition permit, we are not allow to depends on the Windows OS to run it, it must be a solely run-able simulator. We are using it to test for processors, buses..etc. Did anyone have any idea on it? Thanks anyone that can help.

well, i dont think it is a software for that means...
