I need a program

Hi all, does anyone know of a Bitmap Drawing Program (like Windows Paint) that is written in either C, or C++, that I can use as a guide in building my own bitmap program? I have searched all over the internet, but I can't find anything. ANY help would be appreciated.

P.S. If you need my compiler, I use Pelles C as my C compiler, and Dev-C++ 4.99 as my C++ compiler. I am running Windows 98 First Edition.
