command time output in Linux

after compiling my prog i ran it with the command time
C++ Syntax (Toggle Plain Text)
  1. time ./a.out
and it gave me this output
C++ Syntax (Toggle Plain Text)
  1. real 0m0.844s
  2. user 0m0.172s
  3. sys 0m0.596s

what does this output mean ?

Hahaha So you're just running commands for the fun of it without knowing what they actually do or what?
