Windows version detection

Expand Post »
Hello there!

Is it possible to detect the Windows version (or at least detect if it's XP or Vista) from a C++ code?
I'm working on an ActionScript/C++ solution and, right now, am detecting Windows version using AS, but it would be a lot better if I could do it from inside the C code.

Thanks a lot for any hints.
