c++ windows program to demonstrate encryption

Hi I am trying to write a program that will demonstrate encryption to the user. I would like to have some kind of button menu at first, then the program will show an example of each depending on what button was pressed. Any idea's? Should I go for a win32, or MFC? I would also like to have some kind of animation, weather it be a crude multiple bitmap loop, or something more. Please if anyone has any ideas, sample programs, tutorials, comments, they will all be gratefully received.

Cheers.

definetly go for API (win32) over mfc.

Heres a GREAT tutorial, the one that taught me how to program in API and it also includes the animation part you were looking for.
