CPPBuilder LINK32 Error REGISTRY.OBJ

Expand Post »
I have a project which has always compiled and linked OK under Borland C++Builder 6. Recently I upgraded to C++Builder2007 and now it fails to link with message
[ILINK32 Error] Fatal: Unable to open file 'REGISTRY.OBJ'
This project is using C++Builder purely as a C++ compiler. There are no VCL components in the project. THere has never been a file 'REGISTRY.OBJ' in the project, and no file in the project contains that string.
