countdown timer: time limit from database

hi

im pretty new to software development. i was wondering if theres a way to pass a parameter to a javascript or c# timer from an sql database. i want the timer to be a countdown timer. i only know how to hard code the time limit but is there anyway that i could get that time limit from a database?
