problem with USB port

Hi there,
I am going to develop a program which get its input via USB port. I have no idea how I can read data from the USB port using C#(C++ would be alright). Can you guys help me?

What kind of device is going to be plugged into usb port? is it just a memory stick or something else, like a camera, mp3 player, etc?
