how to make a page partially loaded on button click event

Hi,

I have master and content pages,I have a drop down list, button etc in content page..On clicking go button it ll display grid view..wen i click the button the whole page s getting loaded which i dont want.Can anyone tell me how to do tis.

Well..you can go for update panel in Ajax....

have already used update panel in master page..and wen i click the button in content page whole page is getting loaded once again..
