Error in compilation

When I try to compile a program which is meant to create a DirectX application,an error appears that the header file version doesn't match with the DirectX version.How can I remove this error?

What version of DirectX are you using? Have you tried installing the latest SDK from Microsoft? What compiler are you using? What version?

What are the names of the libraries and header files that you're giving the compiler/linker?
